Freedom Mortgage - No communication and competence
My wife and I have our mortgage with freedom. We have been paying our mortgage on time since day 1.
Fall of last year they notified us via mail that we havenโt been paying the correct amount on our mortgage for over 6 months or so. We were in shock so no big deal I look at my wife and she says I actually call in our payment same day every month and speak with a live person who takes our payment. You would think they would inform her that because the taxes in our town went up that they had adjusted the monthly payments. But nope so we go through a โ 30 day processโ that first of all they said it would take 30 days but we are going on hmm letโs see almost 9 fricken months with this *** bag company.
First itโs oh we need a pay stub...well we sent it. Oh well we didnโt get it. So we sent it again. They say oh we have it but we need tax statements....ok here they are.
Ok sir mam we have everything we will need to review this and come up with a solution that will show your mortgage current with no issues. Ok great....off to underwriting it goes...I look at my wife and tell her....we need to call them at least once a week.....we call every fricken week for 30 days and every time we get the same answer....nope everything looks great your โpoint of contactโ will reach out to you if theyโre is anything else they need. Ok great.....fast forward 40 days later no call from any point of contact then we call them like hey just checking up havenโt heard anything. This person says....oh looks like they stopped the process about 3 weeks ago because they hadnโt received a letter explaining why your credit union uses a member number and an account number.....what the hell????????....my wife goes off on them.
Stating we have been calling weekly and the 20 different people we spoke with said it was still under review etc......we are going to 10 months with this *** company my health my wifeโs health our marriage and way of living is being effected by this company and theyโre lack of competence and communication. Stay far far away...I would wish this on my worst enemy ever. Butong story short weโve been working with a major law firm in our area that deal with predatory mortgage companies like this that play games so that they can continue increasing your late payments etc.....letโs just say after our case has been finally reviewed by one of the partners in the firm he said we have a hands down Great case.
They say all of there calls are recorded and I canโt fricken wait until this comes out in court Iโm going to be sure to contact every news media agency that want to listen. Iโm starting a campaign and itโs not going to end well for this horrible company.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.

I have a sister that is getting the run around by their less than competent customer service department always stating that she had put all her paperwork in. She waited for a month the first time after a whole loss mitigation packet was turned in and they said it went to the underwriters.
She thought she was ok until she received a notice on her door and I have yet to look at the fees they are charging her. But they are the definition of a predatory mortgage company. I need an l number for a lawyer for her if you have one.

My wife and I were in the same exact situation. It was a year long battle with them and finally as if a couple months ago and 23,000.00 later to get โthrough freedoms lost mitigation processโ they finally updated our account to current on there website, Put on our credit report it supposed to show the mortgage paid down by $23,000 it only shows it paid down by $1500 so I feel like Iโm gonna wait a few more months to see if my credit report updates but I think this is another part of their scam.
When asked what happened because I went through our attorney generals office and also the US consumer reporting agency freedom stated that our local title loan company gave them the wrong tax numbers so thatโs why we were paying what we were paying and why it was short for 5 months. I think thatโs a load of *** but like I said They ran circles around my wife and I for over a year and we are just so mentally and emotionally drained that we havenโt seeked out any lawyers yet. If you have a contact for your lawyer please forward to me. Your story is exactly our story to a T.

This company is the worst!!! They donโt pay property taxes on time then forward you the fees when they are at fault!!!
I am in the same mess with Freedom Mortgage. They increased my escrow amount so my monthly payment increased.
They said they mailed me a notice but I never received it.
They also stopped sending me monthly Statements so I didn't see that they were charging me late from my payment, which made my payment short, and then they charged me a late fee again. This has gone on several months now and I now owe them an additional $900.00 in late fees.
